Festival Village

Festival Village was designed as the social hub of Festival of the World, a summer arts festival organised by London's Southbank Centre in 2012. The space was designed and built collaboratively. Over 200+ staff and local volunteers worked together using 5+ tons of reclaimed materials to deliver the project. The space performed multiple functions from rehearsal space to dining space and from meeting space to touchdown workspace. Southbank Centre described Festival Village as "a demonstration of the power of what can be achieved when people work together to create something new".

Meet the Chef

How a corporate calendar can bring more business to Thailand's local restaurants in upcountry? What about creating more engagement with the calendar using QR Code as to see the ‘Secret Recipe’ video clips of signature dishes of 12 Thailand’s local restaurants. The clips will be uploaded to Social Network sites for easy sharing. More views will help restaurants be better known and may lead to more sales. As a result, local individual entrepreneurs can stand on their own, running their chosen business, not having to leave their hometown.

Buckets of Love

Design for a social enterprise in Phnom Penh (Alma Café) which helps the needy through the Buckets of Love campaign. By donating a small sum, a pail containing food, oil, necessities is donated to the needy villagers who need it. Share the gift of love. Here the idea was simple, featuring the buckets full of graphic hearts that depict love. By portraying it pouring out, it signifies showering the needy with the well needed love. The bucket carries a smiley face that lights up not only the receiver but the sender as well. A little gesture of love goes a long way.

360° Water Barrier

When flash floods or high tide arrives, the road barrier will move its metal shutter to the other road barrier, creating a line of defence across the flood-prone areas. During low tide periods or mega events, the barrier can be lowered to match the street level for easier crossing. Using the existing road barriers, we can make some improvements to it so as to deter any flash floods or open up to any major events.

The project is a special box located in the city center, serving as a warm light in the city. It provides a home-like rest stop for city workers in busy areas, offering convenient services such as a place for short breaks, drinking water, charging stations, first-aid kits, and various other amenities.
