Maidan

The Maidan tent is a covered, welcoming square, designed to host various activities. The structure is a round, multifunctional space open on every side and subdivided into eight sectors which are zoned in two concentric areas. The center of the tent is an open common meeting place enclosed by a ring of semiprivate spaces where people can gather to pursue their activities in a more intimate common space.

HOME MADE

For the Architecture Biennale in Venice, Caramel’s task was to design a ‘refugee camp’, using a vacant office building in Vienna. Safeguarding privacy, as in marking a place where someone can rest undisturbed by external influences, was the first and most important subject of “intervention”. Starting with a minimal design repertoire the central criterion was that all elements can be rapidly dismounted and easily reassembled in a different location.

Tactile supports for wayfinding

The bachelor thesis (ISIA Urbino, supervisor: Luciano Perondi) investigates the problem of accessibility within the graphical representation of space and takes the form of a tactile artefact accessible to the blind and visually impaired. The goal is to make the geography of an area available both in economic as well as content terms, thanks to the combination of a low-cost printing technique and a specific representative approach. The project consists of a set of tactile maps and a research programme that documents the design process and the first phase of testing with blind people.

Oversafe

The project has been delineated upon the observation of methods of transport for migrants in the Mediterranean Sea. The trans-ship appears to be one of the most critical moments of the rescuing process, as very often migrants risk to fall off in the sea and sink.This project aims to propose a solution for this issue, allowing a safe trans-ship method.The idea proposes a plank designed for Coast Guard’s boats. It allows a safe and organised transfer of one person per time it requires simply one operator, instead of four, and it is made with cheap material that doesn’t require complex production

Loop

Along with the challenge between the players Wind Turbine game demonstrates how the wind power transforms into the electricity that is used everyday.Also tells that how the energy can be renewable by simulating the way the wind turbines work.Recycling Bin game shows waste recyling process.Helping the kids to be able to categorize the recyclable wastes and showing that they can be valued again.In that sense the project arouses environment friendly consciousness and sensibility to environment issues.Leads new generations to adapt this recycling,renewing and saving culture.

X-Space

In some kinds of situations of the fire that passageway has been blocked in accident. No matter what you do, you cannot escape from the fire through the door. To find a solution for trapped person get away form the fire quickly, the team find the point in window frame redesign. X-Space is redesign of the window frame including rotational structure holder. When fire coming up, all family members can easily get out of the fire through the X-Space avoiding the injury from the fire and smoke behind the outer wall.
