Wireframe

The wireframe program aims to bring affordable electricity to village households in developing countries by training locals how to build, service and spread the extremely cost effective WF II. turbine, made mainly out of recycled components - and teaching chosen residents how to create the most efficient turbines and reliable electrical grid and infrastructure from regionally given materials, with accessible technologies and tools.

Light Mosque

A flexible building framework that can be easily assembled forms the building’s structure. On this simple structural steel framing, series of fabric elements are hanged in order to define the interior space. Fabrics are distributed following a specific modulation and are used as spatial organization elements, as they allow for the powerful plasticity of the building’s design while responding to specific functional demands. The basically orthogonal prayer space is given a sense of flow from the light cuts, having a direct reference to the effect often used in Islamic architecture.

ToyBox

ToyBox is designed to provide play opportunities to the world's most venerable children. Through the innovative re-appropriation of existing cardboard aid packaging, ubiquitously used by charities to distribute relief aid to disaster hit areas in the BoP (Bottom of the Pyramid), ToyBox provides opportunities for both play and education. In this way, adopting a design-driven approach, ToyBox alters the meaning of an aid carton, from purely utilitarian, expendable cardboard box to an opportunity for engagement, play and discovery.

Beyond

Social integration of the blind is not just about building accessible infrastructures but being emotionally inclusive with each other. Many sighted still feel embarrassed or sorry when they see blind people. Sorry only creates distance. See beyond prejudice and sorry, see beyond the dark glasses. Beyond all these you will meet someone. Most blind people feel great, live a full life, have fully accepted their blindness, and actually this is what they want you to think about them. Beyond is a glasses collection for blind people. Beyond is about feeling good.

Reflected

Specifically designed for Korean burial culture, the Reflected is a small family mausoleum which addresses their current environmental and cultural concerns. In a country with small land size, a burial space has always been an important concern. Yet, their traditional culture vastly prefers private and family space that requires relatively large piece of land. Through Reflected, traditional burial land size for one person can now accept 4, 6, or 8 cremated urns to be placed together and kept in security and in family privacy.

Bookhouse Latrine

Bookhouse Latrine is the outhouse design exercise in the Garden City Lands, Richmond, Canada. As the usage of physical books is on the decline in the digital age, the Bookhouse Latrine project is the architectural attempt to recycle or recirculate physical books for public. A waterless composting toilet was placed in the centre. Wooden bookshelves were designed to be a load-bearing structure, and books on the shelves become "walls." Depending on the types of books or materials used, a program of Bookhouse Latrine could be variously changeable.
